What ingredients other than soy sauce and duck sauce are Chinese/oriental in flavor…?
Making a stir fry with sliced top round beef strips, peppers, onions, mini corn, water chestnuts and bean sprouts over rice.
Marinated meat in worcestershire and soy sauce with garlic and a bit of brown sugar, but it tends to evaporate as it cooks.
Need ideas for ingredients to make a juice/broth to moisten the accompanying rice…Any ideas?
there are lots of asian ingredients to use… if you simply need to add liquid, chicken or beef stock will work, but for flavoring think about these in addition to your soy sauce:
sesame oil (one of my favorites) chili garlic paste (like Siracha) ginger – fresh, minced scallions sesame seeds hoisin sauce mirin (asian cooking wine) orange juice and/or zest
Also, for your rice, think about using some coconut milk for half the portion of water – you will have really creamy rice – it’s great and then with the sauce from your stif fry it’ll be even better!
